Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
A Calling to Serve
Way Maker Midwifery was born out of a calling one that the Lord placed on Hilary’s heart long before she knew where the journey would lead. From an early age, she felt drawn to healthcare, but it wasn’t until she became a doula in 2014 that she truly stepped into the path God had prepared for her. As she supported women through pregnancy and birth in both hospital and home settings, her passion for traditional midwifery deepened.
In 2020, Hilary began working as a birth assistant, learning firsthand the beauty and wisdom of birth center and homebirth midwifery. Soon after, she answered the call to become a midwife herself, stepping into rigorous training and hands-on experience as an apprentice midwife. Through the challenges and triumphs of that season, she leaned on Gods guidance, trusting in His design for birth and His plan for her life.
As she neared the completion of her training in 2023, Hilary reconnected with Christa Collins, a fellow birth worker she had known for years. Christa had also found her way into homebirth, as a birth assistant, and their shared passion for Christ-centered, holistic maternity care made it clear that God had brought them together for a reason. With prayer and faith, they joined forces to serve families in the Tulsa area offering compassionate, evidence-based midwifery care rooted in Gods perfect design.
Now, as a Licensed and Certified Professional Midwife, Hilary walks in the calling the Lord has placed on her life to serve, to guide, and to bear witness to the miraculous work of God in birth. And so, Way Maker Midwifery was born, named in honor of the One who makes a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert (Isaiah 43:19).
My Commitment
I believe that pregnancy and birth are sacred seasons divinely designed, not medical conditions to be managed. My care is rooted in the belief that birth is a natural, God-given process, best supported in an environment where women feel safe, respected, and empowered. We are committed to offering traditional, holistic midwifery care that:
- Honors Gods perfect design for birth, trusting in His provision while offering wisdom and support.
- Provides continuity of care, meaning you will know and trust the midwife and birth assistant at your birth.
- Offers evidence-based information, so you can make informed choices for your pregnancy, birth, and baby.
- Supports the body as a whole physically, emotionally, and spiritually throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
- Respects the sacredness of homebirth, where a woman’s body is free to labor as God intended, surrounded by those who uplift and encourage her.
Midwifery is more than just a profession for us it is a ministry. I consider it a blessing and privilege to walk alongside families as they welcome new life, offering prayerful support, encouragement, and the wisdom of generations of midwives who have come before us. Whether you are preparing for your first baby or welcoming another child into your family, we are honored to serve you.
Through every contraction, every moment of surrender, and every triumphant birth, we are reminded that He is faithful. He is the Way Maker, the One who guides, strengthens, and brings forth life.
My Philosophy
As a midwife, I am committed to providing warm, compassionate, and authentic care, meeting you exactly where you are without any pretense. My primary goal is the health and well-being of both mother and baby, closely followed by supporting the birth experience you desire.
When concerns arise, I typically recommend holistic approaches first, such as adjustments in diet, hydration, herbal remedies, minerals, and vitamins. However, I fully respect and support your preferences; if you opt for medications, I will provide safe and appropriate options. I try to maintain a balanced perspective on holistic practices. Education is paramount in my practice, ensuring you make informed decisions. I strive to communicate openly and clearly, ensuring I explain everything to the best of my ability.
My faith is integral to my practice; I often pray and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. I believe in a hands-off approach, trusting that, when left undisturbed, the natural process unfolds as intended. God’s timing and design are perfect.
I place great importance on diet, exercise, and mental health. Proper nourishment and hydration can prevent many issues during pregnancy and birth. Our visits will focus on your mental and emotional well-being, as well as your physical health, allowing me to support you comprehensively throughout this journey.
